Real Answer to a Real Question from an Engaged Bride-to-be:
Updated: Apr 24, 2019
ON MY WEDDING DAY, DO I WALK DOWN THE AISLE WITHOUT MY ENGAGEMENT RING AND THEN HE PUTS THE BAND ON AND I ADD IT LATER? HOW DO YOU TRANSITION THE SET SO THAT THE BAND GOES ON FIRST LIKE IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE WORN?
Brides-to-be really seem to wrestle with answering this question...A LOT. Some decide to wear their rings on their right hand so their Spouse-to-be can put the band on and then they will put their engagement rings on later on after the ceremony. Others decide to leave their engagement ring with their Mother (or a designated trusted person) until after the ceremony and then make the switch.

Here is a solution that we at Events by Sunshine & Sweet T like:
Make the most of your ceremony by partnering with your Officiant to INCLUDE that as part of your ceremony.
Here’s how…
In this instance, the Officiant can make it something that is very memorable for both you and your guests - AND this can be a unique addition to your ceremony - all the chatter we see in forums about it is an indication that no one really knows what to do. Once the Officiant gets to the section of the ceremony for exchanging rings, the Officiant asks for the engagement ring. They can then hold the engagement ring up with the band and go into a beautiful narrative about what engagement is, the deep meaning and symbolism of the unending circle of the bands, and explain that the wedding band is placed first in order to be closer to the heart. They then give the engagement ring to the Spouse-to-be so that they are the one who places the band before the engagement ring on his Bride’s finger. This also works especially well for those rings that have a jacket style band that goes around both sides of the engagement ring.
This is a beautiful and simple solution.
One that you and your guests will remember.
